Does the price include wood?

No, the price does not include firewood. You can either bring your own firewood or buy from us in advance. Purchase link for firewood can be found here.

How long does a sauna session last?

Accepted Answer

A standard sauna session lasts two hours. This includes the time it takes to fire up. We have dynamic pricing, so that the early sessions when the sauna is more likely to be cold, are more affordable.

Question 3

Can I hire Eikelandsfjorden Sauna for groups or private events?

Accepted Answer

If you want the sauna to yourself, you must book all 12 available places. An alternative could be to buy a 12-clip cutting card (costs NOK 860), which is heavily discounted compared to buying 12 individual slots  - and then you can book 12 people in a session with the cutting card.

However, you can also find a form here on the front page if you want to get in touch with a request for a private event - where we can pre-fire the sauna.

How does the locking system work?

After ordering, you will be sent a unique key code via e-mail. You use this code to open the Igloohome keybox 3 which is attached to the sauna door. Inside the key box you will find the key to the padlock. The code only works during your session - neither before nor after.

Question 5

Is it necessary to clean the sauna after use?

Accepted Answer

In line with our rules of use, the sauna must be reloaded as you found it. We provide green soap and a squeegee to make reindeer husbandry easier. Be sure to mop the water out the door and wash over the benches.

Will the sauna be hot when I arrive?

No, you have to heat the sauna yourself. This keeps costs down and makes Eikelandsfjorden Sauna an affordable alternative.

What is the age limit for using the Eikelandsfjorden Sauna?

Accepted Answer

The sauna is open to everyone who is 16 years or older. Persons under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Is there access to a shower?

Accepted Answer

Eikelandsfjorden Sauna offers a simple and genuine experience with a small changing room and access to clean, fresh seawater. There are no shower facilities. Norway has some of the cleanest sea water on earth.

What role does Eikelandsfjorden Idrettslag play in the operation of Eikelandsfjorden Sauna?

Eikelandsfjorden Idrettslag, a non-profit organisation, owns and operates Eikelandsfjorden Sauna. The surplus from the sauna operation goes to improve our sports and leisure activities in the Eikelandsfjorden.

I have placed an order, but have not received the code. What am I doing?

First check your spam folder in case the email with the code has ended up there. If you can't find it, contact us through the chat on the website, and we'll send you a new code immediately.

How can I reserve a time for sauna use?

Accepted Answer

To book an appointment, go to our booking calendar on the front page of the website. Choose the time that suits you best and click on "Book". You will then be asked to fill in a form and complete the payment. After payment, you will receive a code and more information from us.

Is there parking?

Yes, there are many parking spaces right next to the sauna on the quayside.

Can I drink alcohol in the sauna?

Accepted Answer

No, the Eikelandsfjorden Sports Association has decided that you cannot enjoy alcohol in the Eikelandsfjorden Sauna - as this is an outdoor activity for the whole family. In any case, it is not allowed to drink alcohol in public in Norway.
